What is potli massage?
Warm bags of herbs pressed on the body: an old Indian way to ease stiff joints.

In many Indian homes, the answer to stiff joints has always been warmth. Potli massage uses that same idea. Small bags of herbs are warmed and pressed gently on the body.
In short
- A potli is a small cloth bag filled with herbs.
- The warmth relaxes the muscles around stiff joints.
- It is a good choice if firm massage feels too strong.
An old Indian remedy
Potli massage comes from Ayurveda. People have used warm herb bags for a very long time to ease tired bodies and stiff joints. The warmth, the soft smell of the herbs and the slow rhythm all help you relax.
What happens in a potli session
Warming. The herb bags are heated until they are nicely warm, never hot.
Pressing. The therapist presses them gently along your back, shoulders, hips and legs.
Rolling. Slow, rolling moves spread the warmth and help tight muscles soften.
Resting. You finish warm and relaxed. You can use the steam and hot shower after.
Our potli massage, The Green's Aphoza Mizra, is 45 or 60 minutes.
