Going to a spa for the first time can feel a little new. What do you wear? Do you have to talk? Here is what happens, from start to finish.

From start to finish

Before you come. You don't need to choose a massage in advance. If you are not sure, your therapist will help. Wear anything comfortable.

When you arrive. Come 10 minutes early. It gives you time to settle in and start calm.

Before the massage. Tell your therapist about any injury, pain, pregnancy or allergy. It helps them do the right thing for you.

During the massage. You change in a private room and stay covered with a fresh sheet. Only the part being massaged is uncovered. You don't have to talk. Many people just close their eyes.

After the massage. Get up slowly and drink some water. You can use the free steam and hot shower before you leave.

Speak up any time

Too much pressure? Too little? Room too cold? Just say so. Your therapist will change it straight away.

Feeling a little sleepy or a little sore the next day is normal. Want more tips? Read Spa etiquette: 10 simple tips.
