A 10-minute way to plan a busy day

Too much to do? Breathe, write it down and pick what matters most.

Some days start with a list so long you don't know where to begin. Calls, work, family, errands: everything feels urgent. Ten calm minutes before you start can turn that mess into a clear plan.

Why a busy day feels messy

When your mind tries to hold every task at once, it jumps from one to the next and you feel stressed. Calming your mind first, then writing everything down, helps you focus on one thing at a time.

The 10-minute routine

Breathe (2 minutes). Sit with a notebook and a cup of tea. Close your eyes and take ten slow breaths.

Write it all down (3 minutes). Write down everything on your mind: tasks, worries, reminders. Don't sort it. Just get it out of your head.

Pick three (3 minutes). Circle the three things that matter most today. Everything else is extra.

Breathe again (2 minutes). Close your eyes, picture yourself doing the first task calmly, and take five slow breaths.

A calm mind doesn't do more. It does what matters.

Make it a habit

Keep the same notebook on your desk and do this at the same time every day. When the day gets busy, take three slow breaths and look at your three tasks.
