Easy foot care at home

Your feet carry you all day. A simple 15-minute routine to keep them soft, clean and comfortable.

We walk, stand and rush around all day, and our feet carry it all. Yet we rarely look after them. A little care once a week keeps them soft, clean and free of pain.

Why foot care matters

Dry, cracked heels, hard skin and tired feet are common, especially if you walk a lot or wear open sandals. Simple care stops small problems from getting worse.

A 15-minute foot routine

Soak (5 minutes). Fill a tub with warm water and a little salt or mild soap. Soak your feet and relax.

Scrub (3 minutes). Gently rub your heels and the hard parts of your feet with a pumice stone.

Dry well (1 minute). Dry your feet fully, especially between the toes.

Moisturise (3 minutes). Rub in a thick cream or coconut oil. Massage your feet as you do it.

Trim your nails (3 minutes). Cut them straight across, not too short.

Every day

  • Wash and dry your feet well.
  • Wear shoes that fit and support your feet.
  • Wear cotton socks if your feet sweat.
  • Put your feet up for a few minutes at the end of the day.

If you have diabetes

Check your feet every day for cuts, blisters or sores, and see your doctor about any wound that doesn't heal. Don't use hot water or sharp tools on your feet.
